About Wendy
Wendy Potgieter
Wendy is a local Noordhoek artist, working mostly in oils.
She transitioned into a full time artist after a 22 year career in advertising.
Her art is intuitive, capturing the essence of movement & light, from fragments of moments in life & surrounds. There is a spontaneous energy that goes into each artwork. She loves painting alla prima, keeping the energy in the brush mark on the canvas, whilst searching for her own unique way of achieving an emotional, expressive outcome rather than an accurate realistic rendition.
She’s on a continually evolving path & loves imperfection!

Wendy has artwork hanging in homes all around the world. She is represented by Noordhoek Art Point Gallery as a permanent artist & currently the First Thursdays held at Kelvin Grove. She has exhibited at the Zeitz Mocca, Nova Constantia, South Hills Winery & also regularly at Kirstenbosch, as well as numerous online exhibitions & auctions.
She is a member of the South African Society of Artists.
